Just as the skinny jean trend was fully integrated into life in denim, the people (I don’t know who these “people” actually are) went out and pulled the rug right out from under our skinny jeans. Mom // Non-Skinny // the IT jeans appeared on the scene and went right ahead and confused everyone. I will say that I am not entirely mad about this new trend, this new jean style is much more comfortable, in my opinion, and I am so ready for a more relaxed fit in denim. I purchased several pair of jeans to review, and of the bunch, I chose three pair that made the cut. I am showing three ways to style each pair of jeans: classy, sassy, and sporty!
Now if I could just get my hair to part in the middle and stop using the laugh face emoji, I might actually be considered to be a “hip mom” by my twin teen girls.
The Agolde Riley High Rise Straight Crops
The Agolde Riley High Rise Straight Crops are considered the holy grail of this new jean style. The price point is steep, but the quality is amazing and they are well worth the price. The denim has some structure and makes you feel very held in (score). The Agolde jeans have a straight leg cut and are a great introduction to a wider leg jean. I originally purchased these in a size 27 but exchanged for a 28, I would suggest sizing up if in between sizes. These are my #1 pick for jeans that can be dressed up easily and look tailored and classy!

Pistola Presley High Rise Relaxed Roller jeans
The Pistola Presley High Rise Relaxed Roller jeans are incredibly soft, casual, and comfortable. The price point is reasonable and the fabric is so darn soft that they almost feel like joggers. The denim has give to it and these are the kind of jeans that you will grab for again and again. These jeans have a relaxed fit and are easy to style several different ways, I actually prefer them cuffed! I originally purchased these in a size 28 but exchanged for a 27, I would suggest sizing down in between sizes.

AE Highest Waist Mom Jeans
The AE Highest Waist Mom Jeans are a great value coupled with style and priced at under $50. These jeans are made from a medium weight denim and have give to them as you wear them throughout the day. The distressing is fun for summer and the hue is a nice medium color (I am wearing the “gemini blue” color). AE gets props for continuing to give us affordable denim that is on point style wise. These are true to size for me, I am wearing he size 4 in the regular length. They are also offered in short and long inseams.

If you are ready to jump out of your skinnies and into the IT jeans, all three of these styles are great choices. Now for that middle part and laugh face emoji…. that is going to take a little more convincing for me…
