I have had several requests for a round of of fashion and function sneakers for fall and was more than happy to oblige with this request because I pretty much LIVE in sneakers! Sneakers of all styles have become a fashion staple and are widely accepted in many work places. Fashion sneakers have made a huge statement over the last handful of years – I would never have predicted that $500 sneakers would be a thing, but here we are in a world where GG rules the roost. Functional sneakers have also moved onto the scene with a bang. I have rounded up the brands and styles that my girls and I like best and have shared what kind of movement/exercise each is best suited for. In the case you have sticker shock on many of the fashion sneakers (I hear you), I have included a less expensive version for several pair. Now, let’s get into the nitty gritty on each of these pair of kicks!
Function
The Adidas Swift Run Sneakers are available in several colors and are a great every day or low impact shoe. They are incredible light weight and are easy to skip on and off. These are my go to travel shoe. These tend to run large, I would suggest sizing down .5.
The Nike air vapor max is my teen girls favorite shoe for exercise. We all wear the same size shoe and I have tried these out as well and the cushion on the soul is amazing. It almost actually feels like you are walking on air. These are very supportive for running, high intensity workouts, and sports training. We find these to be true to size.
The On Cloud Cloudswift shoe was a new find for me over this past year. I tried several styles from this brand before I found the version that I like best, the Cloudswift. I found other styles to be less supportive in the ankle and definitely prefer this version. These have been fantastic for high intensity workouts at the gym and for running short distances. I love the slip on feature which makes getting them on and off several times per day so much easier! I find this to be true to size.
The Brooks Levitate slip on shoe has been a lifesaver! These are just as supportive as the Brooks that we have all come to love but make life easier with the elimination of laces. They are easy to slip on and off with a small tab behind the heel and have a nice sleek look to them. I find these to be true to size.
The Brooks Glycerin sneaker is my all-around favorite workout you. I often times try out different brands, but I always end up coming back to this particular sneaker. I love that these are comfortable around the back of your achilles, have lots of support in the sole, and stabilize the ankle. I find these true to size and they are available in many colors.

The Golden Goose Midstar…. this brand can be a touchy subject. I often times get out asked if they are worth it. I definitely would not suggest getting into debt over the shoe, but if it is something that is in your budget, and you like the style, I say do it! I absolutely love this mid top version because they are not quite a hightop but definitely have a different look to them. I couldn’t resist the wingtip style on the front toe or the pink details! These are definitely a unique sneaker that you will have for years, I find them true to size.
The Nike Court sneaker has taken the sneaker world by storm over this past year. I have these in several colors and absolutely love them. This neutral version is very versatile and works year around, I find these true to size.
Rothy’s shoes and sneakers are often referred to as the teacher shoe because they are incredibly comfortable and easy to wear all day long, especially if you are on your feet. I prefer the sneaker version because my feet are always cold during the winter time. The shoes are sustainable, washable, and come in lots of different colors with unparalleled comfort, I find them true to size.
The Golden Goose Sherpa Sneaker is just plain good! Living in Minnesota I am here for anything that’s going to keep your feet warm during the winter months. I wore these sneakers a ton all last winter because not only is the ankle area lined in soft sherpa, but the entire foot that is lined in sherpa as well, dreamy. I find these to be true to size but the sherpa is a little bit bulky so you may be better sizing up if in between sizes.
This particular Golden Goose sneaker was my first GG purchase. I chose them because they are neutral and go with everything. My advice is that if you are going to invest in a pair of fashion sneakers at this price point, go with a style that is not trendy so that you will get the most out of your investment. These are true to size.
The Steve Madden hidden wedge sneaker was a hit during the Nordstrom anniversary sale and is currently back in stock in three colors and 40% off! I absolutely love this rich cognac color, and the hidden wedge helps to elongate your legs. I find these to be true to size and I absolutely love them for fall.
The Nike Court sneaker is back in 2 more fun color ways! If you’re lucky enough to grab these in your size I would absolutely recommend doing it. These are versatile, comfortable, and dress up a pair of leggings or an athleisure outfit with ease. I find them to be true to size.
When I share this three strap sneakers with you all a few months back, it was either a love it or hate it response. I personally love these sneakers because they are lined in a very soft terry cloth and I think the scallop details are absolutely adorable. They are a great dupe for the much more expensive Chloe version and I find these to be true to size.
These Gucci sneakers are the mothership of shoes. I put away a small amount of money for these for about six months and finally made the plunge, I could not resist the pink and green stripe because it is different and unique. These run true to size and give me all the heart eyes!
