Back to School Essentials for Teen Girls

Today marks T-27 days until my twin girls start high school. I am so excited for them because for me, high school was 4 of the best years of my life. My “people” from high school are still my closest and dearest friends and for that I am incredibly grateful. To think that the existing friendships that will be continued and the new ones that will be made in these next years will shape who my girls become as adults is crazy. Their experiences over the next 4 years will turn into memories that they will talk about for years to come. My combination of worry and excitement is real, and I could blabber on forever about this, but I’ll spare you the details and leave you with the Cliff Notes version. My hope for my girls and for all of the kids entering high school is that they can find the sweet spot, and often blurred line, between working hard and playing hard. Things move fast, if you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you might miss it.

Now, enough with the sappy stuff and onto the SHOPPING! Izzie and Piper (the bookends in the pic) along with their friend Abby have rounded up the must have items for teen girls headed to high school. Apparently these items are 100% approved and will lead to zero percent embarrassment in school, LOL. From backpacks and pencil pouches, to bedroom accessories, to awesome kicks and “fits”, they have you covered. If you can understand these sentences bruh than you are surely the parent of a teen girl. May the force be with us all.

and 2 // Airpods and Air Pods Pro – my girls use these every day. They are compact, stay charged for a long time, and are a teen must have item.

// This lap desk if one of our faves because my girls like to sit in bed and do homework/work on their computers.

// This lamp has 2 USB chargers and dimming warm white light plus 13 additional colors. Perfect for winding down before bed.

, 6, 7, 8, and 9 // These backpacks are approved by my girls and their squad!

// This planner is school, sports, and daily life friendly. I am a paper planner kind of girl so my girls have followed suit!

// This is a great wallet for teens for money, school passes, ID’s, and cash.

// My girls both have and love this pencil pouch with lots of dividers for organization. It even fits their TI-85 calculators.

// This lunchbox is I and P approved so to avoid any kind of dining embarrassment.

// Chrome books are a life saver. They cover all of the basics for school and are fairly affordable.

// The shacket, a must have fashion item. Be ready to see these on repeat and the insistence that this is warm enough for a jacket when it is 0 degrees.

//The Carhart beanie, a must for the noggin.

// My girls love these padded bralettes. They are cute, comfy, and so affordable.

// The Nike hoodie, apparently a fashion statement in itself, who knew! Be sure to order oversized for the correct “look”.

// This fleece is a great alternative to the more expensive versions. It has great reviews and is affordable.

// This is a great alarm for those heave sleepers that are hard to wake up. It has sunrise simulation, sleep aid, dual alarms, FM radio, snooze, nightlight, daylight, 7 Colors, and 7 natural sounds. It is a fantastic alternative to the much more expensive Hatch Alarm.

// The skylight is a fav around our house. My girls use them every single night and in our basement with friends, hours of fun!

// These CeraVe cleaning wipes are great for backpacks and sports bags to clean your face throughout the day or after an activity.

and 24 // The Nike Court sneakers and the Doc Martins – teenage kicks that rock.

// This “survival kit” is perfect for the backpack. Never be without all of your girlie needs!

// These Kitsch spiral hair ties are always on my girls wrists. They do not tangle in your hair and you can never have too many.

// My girls love these 3 packs of tanks on their own and for layering. They come in several color combos and are good quality and so affordable.

// This is our family water bottle of choice. My girls like the 32oz. size for school because it fits in the side pocket in their backpacks. These are just as good at keeping things cold as their more expensive counterparts, at a fraction of the price.
